Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
This morning I went to Florentine London for brunch with one of my favourite people, Sarah from JuliaSarahLown blog. The restaurant is a one-minute walk from Lambeth North station or a ten-minute walk from Waterloo station and is housed within the new Park Plaza Waterloo hotel.
We were cheerfully welcomed by the restaurant manager and seated by the window. The brunch menu is crammed full with sweet pastries, yoghurts, bagels and every style of egg that you can think of (and if it’s not the style of egg that you’re bothered about, there’s also a choice of chicken eggs, quails eggs and even ostrich eggs!).
After much deliberation, we decided on the Full English Breakfast, Egg White Omelette with Goats Cheese and Spinach, Avocado, Smoked Salmon, Pancakes with Strawberries and Vanilla Cream, and a Fruit Salad. We also had the freshly pressed Sicilian Watermelon Juice and some coffee.
The food was excellent, all freshly made, really delicious and filling. I especially liked the omelette and will try to recreate it at home, the goats cheese and spinach was a delicious combination. The service was extremely impressive, the waiters were all very efficient, helpful and friendly, and were happy to make recommendations and talk about where the food was from. There was also music being played by DJ Cinde Rella, which gave the restaurant a relaxed and inviting vibe.
To sum up, Florentine isn’t a quick in-and-out kind of restaurant (though it can be that if you’re short on time), instead, it’s the kind of restaurant that you’d go to for a long brunch, or lunch, or dinner. It’s the sort of place where you want to hangout at after you’ve eaten with its comfy lounge chairs, long bar (all the signature cocktails caught my eye!) and funky music. It is absolutely on my list of places to go on a lazy weekend!
