Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Peruvian restaurant, Señor Ceviche, I first ate there at the beginning of 2015 and have been there about 10 more times since then – the winning combination of mouth-watering food, smooth cocktails (the Barranco Babe cocktail is one of my favourites), super-central and cool location (Kingly Court, Soho), music which makes me feel like I’m on a 1980’s Peruvian holiday and fantastic service has kept me coming back for more. As I previously stated, Señor’s casa is your casa!, which is still very much the case.
My most recent visit to the restaurant was for lunch yesterday with Ioulia from Yoga Dining Club. The first thing I ordered when I sat down was the Barranco Babe cocktail made with a blend of 1615 Pisco, passion fruit purée, lime juice, vanilla syrup, egg white, basil leaves & burnt angostura – it is pure heaven in a glass!
We ordered lots of plates to share including: Chifa Chicharrones (slow-cooked crispy pork belly buns with sweet soy sauce), Aubergine Picarones (sweet potato and aubergine doughnuts with aioli and roasted peanuts), Quinoa Croquettas (cheese and quinoa croquettes), Pachamanca Pork Ribs with yakiniku sauce and roasted peanuts, the Signature Señor Ceviche with Sea Bream, BBQ Jerusalem Artichoke Ceviche with Sea Bream, and Anticucho de Res (beef heart skewers).
Everything we ordered was bursting with flavour, I love eating food which is innovative, exciting and different, so every bite was incredibly satisfying. The little pork buns were so sweet and juicy, the aubergine doughnuts were addictive and the ribs were worth the mess! I also liked the cheese and quinoa croquettes, the perfect little snack to start with and the ceviche, of course, was fresh and zingy.
For dessert we both chose the Dulce De Leche Ice Cream with warm caramel sauce and pecans – it literally melted in our mouths and tasted exactly like a dessert should.
By the end of the meal, neither of us could move – we were both so full and spent about 20 minutes thinking about leaving before we actually did (definitely a sign of a good meal!). Also, take a look at the Señor Ceviche Instagram page here for a peek at their colourful dishes. Finally, I’ve heard there are some new dishes in the pipeline, I cannot wait to go back and try those too!
