Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
‘Dry’ January may be over, but it doesn’t mean you need to fall straight off the wagon and back onto the wine… Michelin-starred Indian restaurant, Benares, in Mayfair, is currently serving an exclusive JING Tea inspired menu that pairs wellbeing with food and drink, through focusing on the health benefits of Indian spices and tea.
It’s perfect for those looking to continue their New Year’s detox and the perfect way to enjoy exquisite modern Indian cooking alongside a carefully curated, non-alcoholic drinks offering. Working alongside a JING Tea Master, Benares’ Chef Patron, Atul Kochhar, has created a three-course set menu showcasing a wealth of Indian apothecary spices renowned for their restorative, detoxifying purposes, which complement the tea.
Dishes on offer include Mussels Mappas; served with a Keralan coconut sauce packed with fresh turmeric – renowned for its anti-inflammatory properties, Chargrilled Cauliflower and Broccoli served with a fenugreek sauce – fenugreek seeds improve digestion and help maintain a healthy metabolism, and Tandoor Roasted Pineapple, flavoured with star anise – a spice revered for its medicinal and immunity boosting properties.
Starters are accompanied by a Lemongrass & Ginger Tea – a fragrant and refreshing blend of lemongrass stalks and ginger pieces. Main courses are accompanied by the Darjeeling Second Flush Supreme – a black tea with hints of muscatel, resulting in a spicy, deep, fruity taste. The meal ends with a Masala Chai Black Tea, served alongside dessert – an invigorating, spicy and warming blend of tea and spices.
The delicious JING Tea Pairing menu is available until March.
