Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Set up by former music producer, Steve Parsons, after a stint living in health-conscious California, Huna Blends is the latest superfood to hit London. Blending is what they do but this isn’t your standard smoothie. This is a choice of quick-frozen fruits blended with frozen non-dairy milks (soy, almond) and superfood boosters, which provide the base to a variety of foods and drinks. They can be part of a combo bowl topped with their own baked granola or made into sorbets or drinks.
Huna Blends use powerful industrial blenders to crush fruit and vegetables that are flash frozen at source. They then add a granita of non-dairy milk, a superfood booster, some crunchy topping with seeds & berries, and some fresh fruit… before you know it – you have the alternative third meal of the day, which is as delicious and nutritious as it looks. Alternatively, if you prefer your vitality in liquid form, Huna Blends is the perfect base for smoothies and juices. Huna Blends contain no additives or preservatives, and are vegan friendly and gluten free.
What is the meaning of the word ‘Huna’?
When the Polynesian’s arrived on the volcanic islands of Hawaii they brought their unique spiritual practises with them. Although they have a pantheon of gods these deities are not worshipped in an orthodox sense. The Huna philosophy and practise is concerned with linking the three main power centres of the body by the use of Manna (inner breath). The Huna people believe that once this has been achieved then a direct linkage to all godforms and spirits of nature will be achieved without effort.
