Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
One of my favourite smoothie brands, Innocent, is getting unplugged and encouraging people to switch off. We are more globally connected than ever before, but life in the digital age is far from ideal and I, for one, spend a fair amount of everyday staring at a screen.
Research carried out by Innocent shows the average person checks their phone every six and a half minutes – that’s 150 times a day! …But it doesn’t help people: heavy internet users are 2.5 times more likely to be depressed.
Disconnect to reconnect
Innocent want to remind everyone what life can be like when you’re not switched on, even for as little as 48 hours – small changes can make big differences. Innocent shared ideas with me of how I could disconnect to reconnect including:
Innocent also sent me a box full of goodies to help me with my detox including a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera (which takes gorgeous polaroid like photos), a scrapbook, an anti-stress colouring in book, some gorgeous stationary and lots of delicious smoothies to drink!
I’m certainly looking forward to my digital detox challenge and going technology free!
Turn off, tune out and drop out
As Innocent believe that life’s a bit too connected these days, for one weekend only on 23-24 May 2015, they’re going back to their festival roots and hosting Innocent Unplugged, an off-the-grid weekend with a difference.
For those of you who are available this weekend and also inspired to go offline, Innocent Unplugged is a chance to have a fantastic weekend away from frantic city life.
With great music, delicious food, inspiring speakers, workshops and a wood-fired spa, you will have an incredible weekend without feeling the need to go online. There’s no wifi, 3G or traditional electricity, just brilliant entertainment and food. The festival will take place in a secret woodland location just outside London (near Sevenoaks) and tickets are free, just sign up in advance here.
