Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Launched at the end of January, FORM Studios in Notting Hill is set to take reformer Pilates to a whole new level, with the debut of their MOTR and an exciting new signature workout concept, METcore. Founded by Elissa Elhadj and Jeremy Abadom, the dynamic 50-minute workout is the first to combine the strength training of Pilates & Yoga with HIIT METabolic interval cardio conditioning (Tabata & TRX).
Designed to fit perfectly around the hectic lives of busy Londoners, classes at FORM Studios have been specifically structured to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for fitness. It is the first London fitness studio to introduce the MOTR, an innovative and versatile new piece of equipment, proven to challenge the core muscles more intensely than any reformer Pilates class. The combination of MOTR movements provides a versatile body weight workout that improves core strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and cardiovascular fitness simultaneously. The interval cardio component is designed to help burn fat whilst the strength and Pilates training tones to creates long, lean muscle, raises the resting METabolic rate and improves bone density.
As well as helping to sculpt the perfect physique, the intensity of the workout ensures that post-METcore class the body unleashes a cocktail of youth-enhancing hormones. METcore encourages your body and brain to produce powerful anti-ageing biochemicals that combat inflammation and oxidative stress, two forces that dramatically accelerate ageing.
The classes at FORM Studios are excellent, METcore is not just about training, it’s about smart training. No two classes are the same so your body and mind are constantly being challenged. The class starts off slowly with a series of simple MOTR exercises, which develop into more advanced MOTR moves, before the final part of the class (which is a killer!) that involves eight minutes of HIIT through a series of exercises including squats on the SkiErg (Nordic skiing simulator), TRX jumping squats, sumo squats with arm raises on the MOTR and kettlebell swings. I left the class exhausted but feeling amazing!
Additionally, there is a only a maximum of eight people per class, so you never feel over-crowded or squashed. FORM Studios believe that fitness can and should be fun, as well as effective, and the class certainly lives up to that belief. Finally, Elissa’s London and LA clients include: Al Pacino, Brooke Burke, Mira Sorvino, Bianca Jagger, Jason Clarke and Alessandra Ambrosio amongst others – with a client list like that – you know you’re in good hands!
