Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Inspired by the charm of New England’s lobster shacks, which can be found up and down the coast of Maine. Lobster kitchen, located a 1-minute walk from Tottenham Court Road station, is one of the latest in trendy seafood restaurants in London. The best lobster shacks serve up top quality seafood in a warm, friendly atmosphere, and that’s what you’ll find at Lobster Kitchen – lobster served every which way, with a dash of New England hospitality!
The restaurant looks rustic-fantastic with lobster cages and buoys dangling from the ceiling, and rough-hewn wood for the tables. Lobster Kitchen only serves seafood that has been sustainably caught & humanely processed, and offers a menu packed full of lobster tails, lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, lobster mac & cheese, lobster bisque and deep fried clams.
I choose the Lobster Thermidor, a juicy steamed lobster tail covered in a tangy mix of egg yolk, mustard & cream with house salad, sweet potato fries, deep fried clams and lobster mac & cheese – I shared the side dishes with Inna from Start Up Your Happiness, who ordered a garlic lobster tail.
The lobster was lovely, admittedly on the small side but super tasty and very good quality. The lobster mac & cheese was mouthwatering – really creamy and filling with a generous amount of cheese sauce and lobster meat. The deep fried clams were delicious and bursting with flavour. I was so full by the end of the meal that I had to skip the ginger sugar coated doughnuts, but I will be back for them!
I also loved the Hugo cocktails, made from a mix of prosecco, elderflower, soda, mint & lime – they were really light and refreshing.
Lobster Kitchen may be in the centre of London, but you might just feel like you’re in a New England seafood shack (after a couple of Hugo’s!). I will definitely be back for some more lobster tails, lobster mac & cheese and doughnuts!
