Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
For lazy afternoons when I need some summer vibes, the Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery, in the heart of Chelsea, is my remedy. The Gallery Mess, which is a stones throw from Sloane Square station, offers delicious daily specials drawn from fresh seasonal ingredients as well as a constantly evolving menu. On top of that, the restaurant setting is beautiful & charming, with big windows overlooking an old parade ground.
I love the exposed brickwork, vaulted ceilings, al fresco terrace & cool displays of art; the listed interior provides the perfect venue for dinner, long leisurely lunches or post-work drinks. The menu, which is British with French & American twists, and extensive bar selection is provided by award winning Rhubarb Food Design. I stopped by recently with Inna from Start Up Your Happiness and we ate:
Our meal was absolutely delicious and the presentation of all of the dishes made them a visual treat too. Everything was cooked perfectly and the different flavours combined to make every mouthful an absolute delight. The starters were light & fresh, the mains were filling & full of flavour, and the desserts were simply icing on the cake!
To sum up; the Gallery Mess is anything but a mess! Unlike most art gallery restaurants, the Gallery Mess is genuinely really good and worth visiting, whether you’re attending the gallery or not. The sunny dining room, al fresco tables, pretty views and scrumptious food, all make it a well-rounded dining venue. I definitely want to return for more of the steak or the Superfood salad with quinoa & pomegranate, and chicken fricassee with cep sauce!
