Aqua Fit Pro: Putting a spin on spinning

“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” – I cannot agree more with this statement (supposedly) from Albert Einstein and hence I’m always on the lookout for fun exciting things to do to keep fit and healthy. Staying on the cycling theme, I’ve always loved spin classes and when I heard about Aqua Fit Cycling (working out on a bike in a pool), I had to give it a try!

Breaking perceptions of aqua exercise, Aqua Fit Pro offers a workout which is not only suitable for everyone, but also challenging, no matter what your age and fitness level is.

I went to LA Fitness in Moorgate with Inna for my Aqua Fit Cycling class – it was really different and a lot of fun! Malcolm, our instructor, had an uplifting soundtrack for the class and his energy was infectious!

The class was really enjoyable, the exercises on the bike were diverse and not limited to cycling only. We did push-ups, tricep dips, sit-ups, planks and other moves that engaged not only our lower body but also our core, back and arms. After the class, I felt like I had done an intense full body workout, without having felt like I was fully exerting myself during the class.

Due to the buoyancy of the water, the exercise is suitable for any level of fitness, from novice to triathlete.  The class is perfect for those who want to mix up their exercise routine or need to stay away from high impact exercise.
