An indoor biking revolution has hit London, so fair-weather cyclists such as myself can keep pedalling all winter. From aqua-cycling to cycle raves, there’s a cycle class for everyone and Edge Cyle is the latest to catch (and hold!) my attention.
Seconds away from Chancery Lane underground station, Edge Cycle is perfect for City workers who need to let off steam. Edge Cycle offers upbeat Edge Cycle classes; indoor cycling for the purist – a great cycling experience that caters for all levels without weights, as well as, invigorating Edge Cycle Bootcamp classes; a full-body workout on and off the bike with a multi-tasking programme that promises to burn up to 1000 calories per class. I should also add, Edge Cycle boasts the largest indoor cycling studio in London, which means you won’t be packed in like sardines and a lighting system that any of the best night clubs in London would be jealous of!
I love both styles of class on offer but it’s the Edge Cycle Bootcamp, which has really put the fun into indoor cycling for me. The class comprises alternating between hill climbs and sprints on the bike, then bootcamp-style floor work on the mat – crunches, squats, upright rows all with hand weights. The class delivers a total workout for your body and core – after the class you may think you’ve been taken over the Edge but, I guarantee, you’ll be back – wanting more!
The instructors at Edge Cycle are motivating and fun, especially Belinda and Jamie.
– Belinda is an inspiration to women everywhere! She has over 20 years of indoor cycling experience and bundles of enthusiasm. She has the hardest six-pack in the city (and six children!), is a keen triathlete, squad cyclist and Level 4 Personal Trainer. Belinda has totally transformed the way I think indoor cycling should be with her fun Australian teaching style and up tempo dance music!
– Jamie is another recommended Edge Cycle instructor, he has worked in the fitness industry as a personal trainer and class instructor for over seven years, developing his own style of teaching to ramp up your energy levels using an array of music from heavy beats with drum and bass, to remixes and old school club classics.
Whatever your goal, Edge Cycle will take you there with its unique and extraordinary programme – you will leave the class on a high and be back for round two, three, four, five…!
