Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Escaping the stresses of everyday life isn’t difficult at Thai Square Spa in Covent Garden, London – the spa brings the only traditional Thai spa experience in the UK. I was recently invited to the spa to review their Seven Pollen Facial (£80 for one hour); a treatment which guarantees to balance, relax and restore a healthy glow to the skin.
Thai Square Spa is housed in a beautiful converted Victorian warehouse on a quiet street in the heart of the West End and after a manic day at work, upon which I left feeling impossibly tired, I could not wait to savour the tranquil and luxurious surroundings of the spa. Once inside, I met Sara who immediately made me feel at home with a warm welcome and a cup of Thai herbal tea. She explained the story behind the spa and the different types of treatments available, mentioning that all of the products used in the spa are premium Thai herbal skincare ranges made in Thailand, and inspired by ancient Thai herbal remedies and rituals. Shortly thereafter, she took me on a tour of the spa and showed me the different treatment rooms, beautiful relaxation areas and summer garden.
From there, I was escorted through to the changing area to prepare myself for the treatment. My therapist, Amy, was delightful, she who made me feel like a VIP throughout the whole treatment, explaining everything in detail and routinely checking that I was comfortable. The treatment started with a traditional floral foot soak, which felt amazing and really helped me to unwind. Following that, I lay down for the facial, which uses Erb skincare products, one of Thailand’s top skincare brands. The products are organic and formulated using the pollen of seven Thai flowers (hence the name of the treatment), which have been used by the Thai Royal Family for many years. Amy gently cleansed and massaged my face using traditional Thai massage techniques, which stimulates blood flow, before exfoliating and applying various serums designed to nurture and rejuvenate the skin. Towards the end of the treatment, I was given a shoulder, arm and hand massage – by this point, I could literally feel all my work tensions melting away from me, it was incredibly soothing! The treatment ended with a final layer of skin protection cream and a spritz of a floral mist, which promotes a sense of calm and wellbeing.
I enjoyed every minute of my experience at Thai Square Spa, the team at the spa were fantastic, really friendly and open. I departed feeling incredibly rested, invigorated and, most importantly, my skin was gorgeously soft with a healthy glow.
