Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Since his documentary, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead, was released in 2010 and became a worldwide sensation, Joe Cross has become a tireless advocate for the power of juicing. He successfully turned his life around through juicing, overcoming obesity, poor health and bad habits.
108 at The Marylebone Hotel recently invited Joe to meet and greet with some of London’s most health conscious, as well as promote his new book, The Reboot with Joe, in which he distils all of the learnings picked up during his incredible journey of transformation.
While enjoying Joe’s Mean Green juice (Cucumber, Celery, Apple, Kale, Lemon and Ginger), he discussed how prevention can often be the best medicine. Eating a healthy, plant-based diet, getting enough sleep and exercise plus maintaining healthy relationships can all help to reduce the risk of getting sick. He believes that we can all take control of our diets and improve our health by consuming more fruits and vegetables.
Making fresh juice a part of a well-balanced diet is an important tool for achieving good health. Juicing offers many life-enhancing health benefits including a faster, more efficient way to absorb immune boosting nutrients naturally found in fruits and vegetables. Joe advised that specific foods are important for a strong immune system to ward off infections, including those rich in vitamin C, zinc and selenium. Joe also stressed that we don’t have to stick to a rigid juice diet to see a change in our health and by simply incorporating up to a litre of his Mean Green juice into our diets each day, we will quickly notice improvements.
My advice? Buy Joe’s book! It’s full of excellent advice and recipes. The book is more than just a diet plan, it is funny, positive and insightful.
