Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
On Friday, I escaped from work and went to a pre-opening class at Psycle, London’s hottest new fitness concept and the perfect way to de-stress. With a philosophy rooted in the belief that your state of mind is key to how often and how hard you exercise, Psycle aims to inspire you mentally and challenge you physically to transform your body.
The class was led by Programme Director Tim Weeks, a former athlete, Olympic Coach & Tatler Trainer of the Year 2013, and was unlike any of the other spinning classes I have attended previously, which admittedly can be somewhat boring. Fast, effective and highly enjoyable; the 45 minute class provides a whole body workout using High Intensity Interval Training combined with low impact exercises on a bike.
The Psycle workout is specifically designed to strengthen the body’s core and tone key body parts whilst burning maximum calories. Light hand weights are used to tone the upper body whilst movement out of the saddle increases the engagement of core muscles and raises the heart rate. Cleated shoes are worn by everyone, increasing the connection between the leg and the bike, engaging the hamstrings and glute muscles resulting in lean, toned legs – and no big thighs!
My verdict: I loved every minute of it and left the class on a high! Psycle is revolutionising indoor cycling for Londoners. It’s exciting, energising and fun – indulge your fear of missing out and go!
