Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Two words – Healthy Cocktails. Last Wednesday, I headed over to 108 Marylebone with Inna to sample the new After Dark Cocktails from The Juicery. Following the incredible success of the pop-up juice bar at 108 Marylebone, the team at The Juicery have added a touch of mischief to their super healthy recipes over the festive season. Their signature juices and blends have received an extra kick with a dash of spirit, which means you can enjoy timeless classics such as Mojitos, Bellinis and Martinis with an energising splash of virtuousness.
The new cocktails not only taste delicious but actually make you feel fitter and stronger. A healthy cocktail might sound like an oxymoron, but there are ways to maximise nutritional value and minimise damage. Instead of being comprised of just alcohol and sugar, all of the cocktails are made with fresh and varied ingredients, which means they are packed with vitamins, antioxidants and nutrients. What’s more, a study by the U.S. Department of Agriculture suggested that adding alcohol to fruit may increase its antioxidant power (story here) 🙂
After Dark Cocktails on the menu:
Ambrose Mojito: A timeless cocktail revamped by The Juicery at 108 Marylebone Lane. Ambrose Mojito includes; a small bunch of mint, Drambuie, dark rum and Ambrose Blend (raspberry, lemon, elderflower, rose water). Served as a Mojito in a tall glass and garnished with mint.
Sidecar on Fifth: Cognac, triple sec, lemon juice, Fifth Avenue (grapefruit, orange, apple, lime, mint) shaken together, poured over cubed ice in a short glass and topped off with orange rind.
Beetroot Bellini: Greenwich (apple, beetroot, carrot, pomegranate, mint) topped up with champagne.
Green Martini: Hendricks, Gin Mare, honey and juice shaken with blended fruit and vegetables (1 kiwi, parsley, mint, cucumber), strained and served in a Martini glass.
Combinations like this are perfect because they satisfy a demand for cocktails that won’t compromise on a healthy lifestyle – so on that note – I will drink to my health this Christmas!
