Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
An evening of yoga, fashion, smoothies, sushi and bubbles with Sweaty Betty…
Last Thursday, I was invited to an exclusive Sweaty Betty Autumn/Winter 2013 Preview bloggers event to view the upcoming collection, which hits the stores early next month.
The evening kicked off with a mini Boxing Yoga class, which is a wonderful blend of boxing technique and philosophy with ashtanga vinyasa yoga. This style of yoga is completely new to me, the boxing-inspired asanas were challenging and provide a fresh break from traditional forms of yoga.
Following the yoga class, I browsed the whole of the new ‘galactic’ Autumn/Winter 2013 collection featuring workout wear for every sport from running, to yoga, skiing, cycling, dance and swimming. My first impression was – I love all the colour! – I often fall into the trap of wearing a lot of black when I workout (it all matches!).
The collection is fundamentally classic Sweaty Betty – high quality materials, functional and stylish design, incredible attention to detail – all with a huge dose of ‘Space’ inspiration. Check out the Sweaty Betty Autumn/Winter 2013 ‘Beyond Blast-off – Surviving in Space’ mood board below:
The collection is inspired by space, the galaxy and intergalactic travel; soft galactic colours and shapes are contrast with hard spaceships and lines. The cosmic prints are so eye catching and I loved the colour pops; neutrals with bold flashes of neon.
The Yoga Statement line particularly caught my attention; several of the items are reversible so you can choose how much colour you want to wear, furthermore, the items offer structured support where it’s needed, have bonded seams and use sweat-wicking, antibacterial fabrics.
After lusting over the whole collection and dreaming of ‘one of everything in each colour please’, I drew up a Sweaty Betty wish list (naturally!) – I’m looking forward to seeing what arrives in the post! 🙂
