Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Last weekend, I attended an hour-long Glow Yoga ‘Dynamic Open Yoga’ class at Good Vibes Fitness in Covent Garden, London. Before the class had even started, I was in awe of the beautiful studio, it was big and spacious with soft ambient lighting. The infra-red heated studio was warmed up to what felt like approximately 28 degrees Celsius and transformed the room into a warm and nurturing environment – perfect for practicing yoga! There is a reason I prefer yoga taught in a yoga studio versus yoga taught in a gym, and it is unequivocally because of notable modifications such as these.
The class was comprised of an equal number of men and women, and included a good cross section of ages. The class was led by Choi Kok, a British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher, and designed to help create a lean, flexible body and a calm mind. Choi guided and motivated us through a serious of Hatha yoga poses and core-strengthening exercises; I particularly enjoyed her passionate style of teaching and clear instruction. There was nothing pretentious about the class and it was suitable for all levels (though it does help if you know the basics). I left the class feeling stronger, more focused and ready for the day ahead.
On a final note, I absolutely recommend the studio to anyone looking for a professional, uplifting and luxurious yoga class in central London. Furthermore, not all classes or instructors are created equal so I definitely chose well 🙂
As an added bonus, I met Choi’s gorgeous dog Charlie after the class – he was so adorable!
