Life, health, happiness, yoga, style, travel, sunshine and endless possibilities…
Hotpod Yoga is a new London-based yoga company, which provides one-hour hot yoga (38 C) sessions in an inflatable, heated ‘pod’ and last week, on the snowiest day of the year so far, I headed over to its Notting Hill pop up following an invitation from owners, Nick Higgins (who also teaches at Hotpod Yoga) and Max Henderson.
The lunchtime class, which was made up of around 15 students, was taught by Nick, and combined both vinyasa flow and hatha yoga. Nick’s style of teaching was approachable, relaxing and focused; and being inside the inflatable studio meant that there was a more intimate feel to the whole experience. At the same time, the class did not delve too much into the spiritual / meditative side of yoga; this was minimal, which personally I prefer because whilst I love the inner-peace and energising aspects of yoga, I am not a spiritual person. When practising yoga, there is nothing worse than being rushed, and Hotpod Yoga did not fail on this point – the class was opportune and measured, with plenty of time to truly enjoy the yoga itself.
As an added bonus, the class was probably one of the best looking ones I have had the pleasure of attending and with more pop ups appearing in various locations across London, it won’t be long before I go back for more!
